
António Castilho Labisa

António Castilho Labisa has over 40 years of experience as legal counsel for a number of important companies in the shipping área, e.g. shipowners, banks and financial entities, P&I Clubs and insurance companies
He was a founding partner and member of the “Instituto Hispano-Luso-Americano de Direito Marítimo” Audit Board (1988-1991) as well as assisting the Portuguese Bar Association in the drafting of the Maritime Courts Law. He is currently a member of the panel of arbitrators of the “Centro de Arbitragem Marítima” (Maritime Arbitration Centre) based in Lisbon.
António Castilho Labisa has also a vast experience in energy law, in particular renewable energy having acted in the past 24 years as legal counsel for a large number of companies and international funds in the development, licensing, funding, construction and operation of windfarms and PV solar plants and hydroelectric plants.
Recently, António Labisa was one of the coordinators of the Maritime Law Post-Graduate Course of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa having given a lecture on Salvage and Collisions at Sea.
